Description In the third book in the trilogy that includes Reduction and Givenness and Being Given. Marion renews his argument for a phenomenology of givenness, with penetrating analyses of the phenomena of event, idol, flesh, and icon. About the Author JEAN-LUC MARION teaches philosophy at the Sorbonne and as John Nuveen Professor at the Divinity School and Department of Philosophy at the University of Chicago. More recently, Marion was elected to the Academie Francaise.
