He received his board certification from ABSPOMM in 1991. Dr Friedman teaches internationally and has helped to establish Osteopathic programs in Germany for the DGOM and the DAOM. He is co-founder of San Fransisco International Manual Medicine Society (SFIMMS) and has written numerous books on Osteopathic technique including Functional Methods, with William L Johnston and David C. Eland, and a set of 4 instructional manuals (SFIMMS series in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine) on Counterstrain, Myofascial and Primary Respiratory Mechanism approaches in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.
